1. Introduction
Utahon is a lyrics display and language learning app provided by PlayMind Co. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app processes and how it is used. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
2. Information We Process
The app processes the following information on your device.
Music Playback Information
- Currently playing artist name, track title, and album name (used only to fetch lyrics)
- This data is not stored on our servers
Spotify Authentication Token (when Spotify is connected)
- Stored only in the device's SecureStore
- Used solely for communication with the Spotify Web API
Local Cache
- Lyrics, translation results, and katakana readings (stored in device SQLite)
- User-saved phrases (phrase book)
Advertising Identifier (IDFA / AAID)
- Used for ad delivery on the free plan (Google Mobile Ads)
- On iOS, used only when user consent is obtained via the ATT framework
3. Data Sent to Third-Party Services
To provide features, the app sends the minimum necessary data to the following external services.
Spotify Web API
Authentication and retrieval of currently playing track info. Spotify LLC's privacy policy applies.
lrclib.net / Lyrics Ovh
Artist name and track title are sent to fetch lyrics.
Anthropic Claude API
Lyrics text is sent to generate katakana readings (Pro feature).
Microsoft Azure Translator / DeepL
Lyrics text is sent for translation.
RevenueCat
Anonymous purchase information is sent for subscription management.
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob)
Used to serve ads to free plan users.
4. Personal Information
We do not collect personally identifiable information such as name, email address, or location. Spotify account details are used for authentication only and are never stored or accessed by PlayMind Co.
5. Apple Music (iOS)
When Apple Music integration is selected, currently playing track information is retrieved via the iOS MediaPlayer framework. Apple Music library data is not sent to our servers and is processed locally on your device only.
6. Data Deletion
Uninstalling the app deletes all locally stored data, including lyrics cache, translations, saved phrases, and authentication tokens.
7. Disclosure to Third Parties
We do not share collected information with third parties except in the following cases.
- When the user has given explicit consent
- When required by law
- For integration with the external services listed above (each service's privacy policy applies)
8. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be revised as needed. Material changes will be announced on the App Store product page. The latest policy will always be available on this page.
